Community Health Corner is a monthly internet show that began during the COVID-19 pandemic when in-person health education was not possible. What began as a simple online substitute for the organization’s educational work, has morphed into a full fledged monthly show aimed at helping viewers take simple and maintainable steps to live a more healthy life.
Each month Community Health Corner focuses on a few simple and manageable healthy changes that viewers are challenged to consistently make during the month in the hope that new habits will be created. The benefits of these highlighted healthy changes are explained through four educational segments – Eat Better, Move More, Take Care, and See Your Doctor – with each segment focusing on a relevant health topic. Recognizing that eating healthy on a budget can at times be difficult, the show also includes a Cooking Cents segment to share helpful information about ways to save money on healthy food.
The internet show is broadcast each month on the first Wednesday of the month at noon on the organization’s Facebook and YouTube accounts. The show is also replayed at 7pm that night.
