Central Georgia Cancer Coalition (CGCC) and over 300 dedicated cancer fighters in the 26 county region of Central Georgia is hard at work partnering with health care providers, physicians, cancer survivors and their families, business leaders, public servants, public health, educational institutions, community and voluntary agencies to meet the cancer needs of all Central Georgians. Discovering the needs and bringing together providers and groups to support cancer prevention, early detection, treatment, and survival activities throughout the continuum of the cancer experience is where CGCC spends its time and energy. Working closely with other regional cancer coalitions, CGCC is able to leverage state funding, share ideas, and expand opportunities to secure support for cancer fighting efforts in the region. CGCC is committed to making a difference in cancer in Central Georgia. Our strategic goals are to help physicians support their patients, assist providers with cancer care, coordinate community educational activities, and enable all cancer patients to experience the best cancer care possible throughout their cancer fight.
CGCC works with individuals, health care providers, and organizations in our region to coordinate, improve, and initiate services and care for those with cancer and at-risk for getting cancer. Coalition partners’ work together to provide a response to education, screening, treatment and support needs that address the whole person through the resources of health, economic and social support networks. CGCC also recognizes the impact of cancer on entire families, communities and systems as we work to address cancer control needs on multiple complex fronts.
