Today is National Puzzle Day

Jan. 29 is National Puzzle Day. A day to exercise our brain, while having a little fun. The options are plentiful. I'll personally stick to a traditional children's puzzle, one I can attempt with my 2 and 5-year-old nephews. Maybe you're more of a crossword, jigsaw or Sudoku puzzle player? Regardless, each of these activities engage our brain in more ways than one.

For example, scientists have determined that when we work on a jigsaw puzzle, both sides of our brains are at work. This can help improve memory, cognitive function and sharpen problem solving skills, all at the same time. Puzzles stimulate the brain, so what puzzle will you make it a point to play today?
