Happy Halloween week! I'm sad to be missing the market this week, we're on vacation on Ocracoke Island, and boy is it a beautiful place. Paige and Sarah will be running the market, and I know Paige has some fun things planned for the kiddos, so please join us!
We are welcoming Bars in Charge to the market this week, they will be selling soaps, bath bombs, sugar scrubs, and oils. We always appreciate young entrepreneurs at the market, so please stop by to see what they have to offer. Sadly, we will be missing Shiitake Village this week, they have no mushrooms to bring to market, but expect to return next week. Miss Kaye will have strawberry plants, get yours soon to get them in the ground. I have plants I bought from her three years ago and they are still going strong!
As usual, there will be chicken, beef, pork from Joseph. Back to Edenz has AMAZING vegan food, and we'll have an endless array of baked goods, and Ava's Apples has tons of dried fruit and veggie snacks. Flowers, eggs, and honey are all available, and then we have so many crafts and artisan wares. Mr. Porter's turned wooden bowls are gorgeous, Z Beans has coffee, both whole bean and ground, and if you want to get an early start on your holiday shopping, we have several jewelry artists to visit: Freestyle Art and Design, Melting Pot Jewelry and Naksh Arts.
Finally, in the interest of keeping our market sustainable, please consider becoming a Friend of the Market! For your $50 donation, you receive a lovely market bag and my undying appreciation. We'll have market bags every week, you can support the market and have a fabulous tote to fill with your purchases! Come and see me at the market tent to learn more about this and about our other sponsorship opportunities. Your weekly patronage is so vital for the market, and the addition of our sponsorship program is a wonderful way to ensure the market's sustainability in the years to come. By becoming a friend of the market (at any sponsorship level), you will, in fact, be a friend to many throughout the community.
Remember, farmer's markets make us happier, healthier, and the community wealthier.
Shop local. Eat local. Live healthy.
See you at the market!
