Although we know that most chronic diseases can be prevented, the lives of far too many people in our state are still being blighted and cut short by these diseases. Community Health Works, therefore, believes strongly in not only promoting overall wellness behaviors, like healthy eating, active living, and reducing exposure to tobacco, but also in making these choices easier for Georgians to make.
We work throughout the state to educate Georgians about the specific risk factors for and prevention of prevalent chronic diseases. Recognizing that knowing what to do is only half the battle, we also focus on behavior modification strategies that allow Georgians to put knowledge learned into action. Further, to make a lasting impact, we also help local leaders across the state implement strategies to create communities that make it easier for residents to make healthy choices.
