After earning her Master of Public Health degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Krista began her career teaching Master of Public Health and Medical students at the Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Georgia. She taught at the Medical School for 8 years, then taught Master of Health Promotion students at Georgia College & State University’s College of Health Sciences while working on her Ph.D.
Transitioning to grant writing and grant management in 2010, Krista managed over 3.6 million dollars in public health and safety programs with the Macon Police Department’s Division of Fiscal Management. In May of 2011, Krista completed her dissertation about primary care physicians in Georgia, graduated with a Ph.D. from Mercer University, and now serves the citizens of Middle Georgia as a grant writer, program evaluator and researcher for Community Health Works.
